Job Description

You are applying for a position through Medix, a staffing agency. The actual posting represents a position at one of our clients. Position Summary The Medical Biller will support a "cleanup" project focused on auditing and recovering outstanding AR from incorrectly written-off claims. Key Responsibilities ? High-volume AR follow-up and denial management ? Document account activity, claim status, and follow-up actions in Epic ? Follow up with government and commercial payers - primarily focused on Medicare claims for both hospital and clinic settings ? Navigate specialized rural billing nuances, such as Critical Access Hospital (CAH) regulations and swing bed reimbursements, to recoup lost revenue. ? Review accounts for billing accuracy and completeness prior to claim submission ? Perform follow-up on outstanding claims through payer portals and phone outreach ? Research and resolve routine denials, including eligibility, authorization, COB, and billing errors ? Maintain compliance with billing regulations, payer requirements, and HIPAA standards Qualifications ? Healthcare or medical billing experience ? A/R follow up experience ? Critical Access or Rural Health hospital billing ? Knowledge of medical terminology ? Experience with EMR/EHR systems, preferably Epic ? High school diploma or
GED Schedule/Shift:
? 8am-5pm PST, some flexibility
Contract Length:
3-6 months. Opportunity to extend contract based on business needs
Pay:
$21 - $24 (Based on experience)
