Overview About Royal Palm Yacht & Country Club:
Royal Palm Yacht & Country Club, located in Boca Raton, FL, is a prestigious private club offering an 18-hole Jack Nicklaus Signature golf course, marina, full-service clubhouse, tennis, fitness, and dining. Our commitment to excellence in service, facilities, and golf tradition make Royal Palm a distinguished place to work and grow your career. Ideally, this position would begin in Mid/late October and run through late April. Start and end dates are flexible for the right candidate.
Essential Responsibilities:
Fill the role of Assistant Merchandiser - assist our Merchandise Manager with ordering, receiving, and displaying merchandise. Manage Golf Genius Golf Shop software for demo club tracking, special orders, online order forms, and advertising. Provide outstanding customer service to members and guests, ensuring a welcoming and professional atmosphere at all times. Assist with daily golf shop operations, including tee time management, merchandising, and point-of-sale transactions. Supervise and manage daily outside operations including cart staff, bag drop, and practice facilities. Provide private and group instruction to members and guests under the guidance of the Head Golf Professional. Assist in organizing and executing member tournaments, events, and outings. Conduct club fittings and equipment sales using leading technology and vendor relationships. Maintain accurate records for handicapping, lesson scheduling, and tournament scoring. Help manage and maintain a well-presented golf shop with attention to merchandising standards and inventory control. Serve as an ambassador for the game, helping to grow participation and promote club programming.
Experience Required Qualifications:
PGA Class A Member or Associate in good standing, or working towards PGA membership. A strong desire to advance your career towards a Head Golf Professional/Director of Golf-level position. Minimum of 1-2 years of relevant experience in a private club or high-end golf environment. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Passion for the game of golf and a desire to grow professionally within the industry. Proficient in golf software systems such as Golf Genius, GHIN, and POS systems (Jonas preferred). Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, and tournament days.
