Job Description

Overview Gaston Country Club is an 18 Hole golf course designed by Ellis Maples and established in 1919. Gaston CC has hosted events such as the North Carolina Open, GPro Tour, Monday Qualifier for the Wells Fargo, NC Amateur Match Play Championship to name a few. Earlier this Spring, we hosted the U.S. Open Final Qualifying on June 8, 2026. The Assistant Golf Professional will assist the Head Golf Professional in the management of day-to-day golf operations. All duties of the position shall be performed with a commitment to the highest level of service for all members and their guests. We are looking for a golf professional eagerly working towards becoming a Head Golf Professional in the future. Experience Required The Assistant Golf Professional is expected to have the following characteristics: Strong Work Ethic Positive Attitude Team Player Coach Essential Responsibilities The main responsibility of this position is to lead the daily operations of the golf department Assist the Head Golf Professional in all facets of the golf operation Assist with ordering, receiving, pricing, and managing inventory, merchandising, and special orders Plan, promote and assist in directing all golf activities Assist in reserving tee times, starting, and monitoring of play Assist in overseeing the administration of the tournament programs Assist in managing and executing member instruction programs (men, ladies, juniors) Play golf with members and guests of all skill levels as time permits Assist with managing the outside golf service Assist with member/guest check-in Assist with all opening and closing procedures Assist in Player Development programs Assist in managing golf car fleet operation, practice facility, and club storage service Provide club repair and club fitting services Benefits Heath, Dental, Vision Insurance (Individual & Family) 401k plan available after one year of service (4% match) PGA Dues Continuing Education Uniforms Paid Vacation Employee Meals Practice and Playing privileges Annual Staff Club Allowance Gaston Country Club is open year-round and hosts approximately 25,000 rounds a year. The Assistant Golf Professional can expect to work an average work week of 45 - 50 hours in-Season with two days off.
