Job Description
Overview We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Assistant in Training to join our Golf Operations team. This is an entry-level position designed for an individual looking to build a strong foundation and career in the golf industry . The Assistant in Training will gain hands-on experience in all facets of the golf operation while working closely with the professional staff. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, takes pride in providing exceptional service, and has a strong interest in developing a career in golf. This position is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to establish a career in the golf industry. Interest in pursuing membership with the PGA of America is encouraged, but not required. The position will provide exposure to the many facets of golf operations and opportunities to develop the skills and experience necessary for future advancement within the profession. Experience Required Previous golf experience is helpful but not required Strong interest in the golf industry Excellent customer service and communication skills Positive attitude and willingness to learn Ability to work independently as well as part of a team Professional appearance and demeanor Ability to work flexible hours, including mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed Basic computer skills and willingness to learn golf-specific software Essential Responsibilities Opening and closing the golf shop Providing exceptional service to members and guests Operating and maintaining the golf shop and related equipment Utilizing Golf Genius for events, tournaments, and golf operations Assisting with tournament preparation and execution Supporting outside golf operations, including cart staging, bag service, and player assistance Assisting with daily tee sheet and golf operation management Learning tournament and event procedures Assisting with member and guest communications Maintaining a clean, organized, and professional golf environment Supporting the golf professional staff with daily operational needs Learning all aspects of the golf operation with the goal of developing into a well-rounded golf professional
