Job Summary:
As a Baker in the bakery department, you will be responsible for producing a wide variety of baked goods, such as bread, pastries, cakes, and cookies. You will need to be able to follow recipes accurately and consistently to produce high-quality products. You will also be responsible for ensuring that the bakery department is clean and well-organized, and that all equipment is properly maintained.
Responsibilities:
Prepare and bake a variety of baked goods, such as bread, pastries, cakes, and cookies, according to recipes and established standards. Measure and mix ingredients accurately, and monitor baking times and temperatures to ensure that products are baked to perfection. Decorate baked goods as needed, using icing, glazes, or other toppings. Maintain a clean and organized work area, including all equipment and utensils used for baking. Ensure that all equipment is properly maintained and functioning correctly. Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines, including proper hand washing and wearing gloves when handling food. Interact with customers and provide excellent customer service when necessary. Keep up-to-date with current baking trends and techniques. Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualification:
Formal culinary or baking training is preferred but not required. Have a Food Handlers Card or willing to obtain one. Bilingual in English/Mandarin/Spanish is a plus. Strong knowledge of baking techniques and ingredients. Excellent attention to detail. Ability to follow recipes accurately. Strong time-management and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends. Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Physical Requirements:
This job may require standing or walking for extended periods of time, lifting up to 50 pounds, and performing repetitive motions.
Working Conditions:
This job is performed in a production environment that may have exposure to heat, noise, and other environmental factors associated with food production.
