This is an exciting opportunity for a pastry professional who enjoys creating beautiful desserts, wedding cakes, artisan breads, and elevated guest experiences for weddings, corporate events, and luxury hospitality venues throughout Monterey County. The Pastry Chef will work closely with our Executive Chef and Executive Sous Chef to develop venue-specific dessert offerings, create memorable dessert displays, support marketing initiatives, and help shape the future of our pastry program. Duties Create and execute desserts, pastries, breads, wedding cakes, and specialty baked goods for weddings, corporate events, and private celebrations. Design elevated dessert displays and interactive dessert experiences. Conduct wedding cake consultations and tastings. Develop seasonal dessert offerings and venue-specific pastry programs. Create recipes, maintain production standards, and manage recipe documentation. Oversee pastry ingredient ordering, inventory, and vendor relationships. Collaborate with culinary leadership on menu development and special projects. Support holiday production, corporate gifting programs, and special event initiatives. Partner with our Marketing Department to create visually compelling desserts for photography, social media, and promotional campaigns. Assist in developing profitable dessert enhancements and upsell opportunities across our venues. Requirements 3-5 years of pastry and baking experience in a high-volume restaurant, hotel, bakery, catering, or hospitality environment. Strong skills in cakes, pastries, breads, dessert plating, and decorative finishing techniques. Experience with recipe development, food costing, and inventory management. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently while collaborating with a larger culinary team. Culinary degree, pastry certification, or formal apprenticeship preferred. Valid California Driver's License. You'll work across multiple unique event venues, collaborate with an experienced culinary leadership team, and showcase your creativity through dessert displays, wedding cakes, seasonal menu development, and marketing initiatives.
