Allyson A Bake Shop in downtown Mount Dora is looking for a part-time baker apprentice (three 12-hour shifts per week) to join our team. Anyone with a passion for baking and a strong work ethic is encouraged to apply. Professional baking experience is not required. All of our products are baked from scratch on-site, including scones, muffins, quiches, waffles, cupcakes, bars, brownies and other assorted desserts. Job responsibilities include helping prepare the bakery case each morning and restocking it throughout the day, as well as baking items, washing dishes, cleaning, and closing at the end of the day. (A full-time dishwasher washes most of the dishes.) Candidates for this role must be comfortable working 12-hour shifts (starting at 6am) and must be able to work at least one weekend day each week.

Note:

The hours could be flexible if needed, but a shorter shift must either start at 6am (for opening) or end at 6pm (for closing). The apprenticeship will last 6-7 months, after which the candidate could (1) be promoted to a permanent baker position (if available), (2) continue the role on a seasonal basis (roughly Sept-Apr), or (3) pursue a baker role at other businesses with the skills and experience gained during this apprenticeship.
