Job Overview We offer some of the best specialty coffees in the area (organic and Fair Trade certified), along with a wide assortment of sweet and savory treats baked from scratch on-site every day. A passion for coffee is all that's needed to excel in this role, as we will provide the training to become an expert barista. Our bakery/cafe is a family-run, woman-led business that focuses on creating a special experience for our customers with amazing coffee, delicious desserts, and a beautiful space to hang out in downtown Mount Dora. The ideal candidate loves engaging with customers, including getting to know them by name and by their favorite drinks and treats. Must be diligent about cleaning to keep the bake shop incredibly clean and welcoming for our guests. There are 2-3 shifts available each week (up to 30 hours/week) right now; weekends are a must. More shifts may be available in the future, if interested. The $16.00-$18.50/hour pay rate includes tips. Responsibilities Provide excellent customer service by engaging with customers, taking orders, and addressing any inquiries or concerns. Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, teas, and other menu items. Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the café area, including equipment, utensils, and dining spaces. Operate the cash register and handle transactions accurately. Assist in managing inventory by monitoring stock levels of coffee beans, milk, syrups, and other supplies. Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during busy periods. Stay informed about new products and promotions to effectively communicate with customers. Requirements Previous experience in the food service or café industry is preferred but not required. Strong customer service skills with the ability to interact positively with diverse clientele. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. A passion for coffee and a willingness to learn about different brewing methods and beverage preparation techniques. Flexibility to work various shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
