Full Job Description Overview:

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Cake & Pastry Specialist to join our artisan bakery team to produce a variety of cakes, roll cakes, pies, tarts, scones, macarons and more from scratch.

Requirements:

Strong professional background in making cakes and pastries from scratch, must be highly skilled at cake decorating (at least 2 years of recent experience is required) Must have experience and familiarity with commercial baking equipment Must be ok with early morning start time Must be available to work weekends and holidays as needed Must be 18+ Positions have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, pushing, pulling, close and distant vision, extended walking and standing, working in loud and hot environments Be able to perform basic mathematical operations Proficient ability to speak, read and write in English; ability to understand and follow recipes and business documents which are written in English This position may also require specific uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for certain tasks Must reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting (Orlando, FL 32804) Have or be willing to obtain a food safety certification Must prioritize cleanliness, time management, and punctuality Able to work accurately and quickly in fast-paced environment Strong team player Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Positive attitude and a willingness to learn

Responsibilities :

Produce and decorate a variety of high-quality cakes from scratch following our cafe's recipes and standards. Produce pies, tarts, cookies, scones, macarons and other pastries following our cafe's recipes and standards. Prepare fillings, frostings, pastry creams, sauces, custards and other components following our cafe's recipes and standards. Assist in developing creative items that align with the overall culinary concept. Maintain consistent attendance and punctuality. Show up to work on time and dressed appropriately per the guidelines listed in the Employee Handbook. Maintain a clean and orderly station. Ensure consistency and adherence to quality standards. Be able to FIFO products and ingredients to ensure freshness and use of product. Minimize waste and control food costs. Pack and organize pick up orders and catering orders. Monitor stocks for ingredients and assist in inventory management, including the tracking of expiration dates. Monitor condition of the equipment, devices, and utensils used, ensuring all such tools are in proper working condition. Resolve conflicts in a patient and calm manner. Work collaboratively with others on your team to streamline operations and enhance overall efficiency. Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information. Adhere to all health and food safety regulations for sanitation, food handling, and storage. Adhere to all procedures and standards listed in the Employee Handbook. Perform other duties as assigned.
