Job Description
Position Summary Are you passionate about great food, exceptional customer service, and working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment? As a Deli Associate, you will assist customers with selecting premium cheeses, meats, prepared foods, and specialty products. You will also play an important role in food preparation, merchandising, baking, and maintaining the high standards of quality and presentation that our customers expect. Key Responsibilities
- Provide friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive customer service with selecting gourmet cheeses, deli meats, prepared foods, and specialty items.
- Learn proper cheese cutting, handling, storage, and presentation techniques.
- Prepare, package, label, and stock deli products according to company standards.
- Plate restaurant and prepared food items with attention to quality and presentation.
- Assemble custom catering trays and party platters for customer orders and special events.
- Support kitchen production by preparing ingredients and assisting with food preparation tasks.
- Bake signature desserts and baked goods following established recipes and quality standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work environment..
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with receiving, stocking, and rotating products.
- Work collaboratively with team members to ensure efficient department operations. Qualifications
- Previous experience in a deli, bakery, kitchen, restaurant, catering, or food service environment.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail and commitment to food quality and presentation.
- Ability to follow recipes, food safety procedures, and department standards.
- Knowledge of domestic and international cheeses, charcuterie, and specialty food products is highly desirable. Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
