For over 19 years, Sugar Bliss has been a premium Chicago bakery and catering company, spreading bliss through handcrafted cupcakes, cake pops, cookies, brownies, macarons, and more. We're looking for a skilled, team-minded Baker to join our high-volume, from-scratch kitchen. If you know your way around American and French pastry, move with purpose, and love making every piece just right, we'd love to meet you. What you'll do Bake from scratch at high volume: batters, buttercreams, cookie doughs, cupcakes, cake pops, French macarons, brownies, cookies, and high-production batches. Follow our from-scratch recipes and procedures, scale batch sizes as needed, and make every product consistently to Sugar Bliss standards Keep customers smiling by upholding our standards for service, quality, and quality control High sanitation standards - prevent cross-contamination with gluten, nut, and vegan products Complete opening procedures each morning within the 90-minute window, moving and communicating smoothly with fellow bakers Complete the daily production schedule and help with custom and special orders on time Help manage inventory of dairy, dry goods, and other supplies Pitch in as a team to wash and put away all equipment and appliances Keep stations, equipment, and storage areas clean and up to sanitation and cross-contamination standards Follow the Sugar Bliss code of conduct, including interpersonal expectations, breaks, phone use, and dress code What you bring Experience as a baker in a high-volume, from-scratch kitchen A wide understanding of American and French pastry and baked goods recipes Confidence working independently about half the time and troubleshooting basic fixes on your own Clear communication with leadership, and comfort asking for help when you need it A proactive attitude and willingness to take initiative Strong multitasking skills and smart use of time and space Sharp attention to detail and pride in the quality of your work A consistent work ethic, positive attitude, and true team spirit Ability to lift and carry 25 to 65 lbs
