Wild Ember Bread is a craft sourdough bakery where we make sourdough hearth loaves, baguettes, pastries, bagels and pizza with stoneground flour in a wood-fired oven and rackmaster deck oven. We do weekly pizza nights on Tuesdays seasonally, and bake Wed-Saturday, with 2x month markets on Saturdays (Market on 42). Head baker/owner Omar had a recent injury, so we need some additional help ASAP. Baking experience and/or commercial kitchen experience is required. We are looking for passionate individuals who are excited about the art of bread and pastry, wood-fired baking and taking initiative as part of a small team. Responsibilities include:

• mixing sourdough and yeasted dough
• hand shaping of bread and bagels
• cookie and scone production
• fire maintenance for wood fired oven
• clean up and adherence to health department standards
• available Tuesday-Saturday Who you are:
• self-motivated and flexible. Dough temperature and schedules change with the seasons.
• great at multi-tasking (key to baking)
• able to lift 50 lbs and spend up to 10 hours on your feet
• passionate about the art of baking sourdough bread
