We at Metropol pride ourselves on our own 20 year old sourdough starter and our from-scratch baking. It's a craft that takes awareness, being precise and an extreme amount of care. We are looking for someone with dedication, commitment, flexibility, and the ability to work hard all while maintaining consistency. These traits are of high importance.

Experience is not necessary, but preferred. Must be able to lift at least 55lbs with ease and stand for long periods of time. The shift usually begins at 3pm and ends at 11pm. The Artisan Baker's duties include, but are not limited to, lifting buckets filled with dough, cutting and weighing dough, shaping dough into loaves, loading and unloading artisan loaves from oven and onto racks to cool, cleaning work space, brushing out baskets and cleaning bakery floor. The Artisan Bread Bakers regularly make Whole-Wheat Sourdough, Eugene Sourdough, Birdseed, Focaccia, Ciabatta and Pane Como, as well as Whole-Wheat Walnut Levain, roasted Garlic & rosemary as, Caramelized onion sourdough, olive ciabatta

If so, what are you allergic to? How soon can you start training/working? Can you comfortably lift 55lbs? Stamina is really important, can you stand and work on your feet for long periods of time?
