Job Description

Portland Pet Food Company is now accepting applications for a Baker at our SE wholesale production facility in Portland, Oregon for the early am shift.

Our team works closely with our fulfillment & shipping departments to ensure we are baking & packaging a high-quality product that will be loved by dogs everywhere. We need dedicated baking associates who are extremely reliable and precise. We are a team-oriented business and are growing rapidly.
Job Description:
This position supports the entire PPFC Operations Department by primarily baking high-quality treats for dogs. To ensure overall success, the bakery will occasionally assist fulfillment & packaging staff. Training will be provided for all tasks assigned and equipment used.
Rate of Pay:
Starting at $19.00 hourlyBenefits for FT employees include Health, Dental, Vision and Life Insurance, Eight Paid Holidays, Paid Time Off provided after training period, Employee Assistance Program, Employee Referral Program, and Educational Assistance Program offered.
Schedule:
40 hours weekly; Monday through Friday; 5:00 am - 1:30 pm daily.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Mix, form, bake, and package dog treats.

Follow health and safety standards and adhere to SSOP processes to maintain clean facilities.

Verify the accuracy of projects and completion of paperwork.

Frequently participate in packaging tasks including bagging, casing, inventory tracking, accurate labeling, and operation of large manufacturing equipment.

Occasionally participate in warehouse tasks including casing, order fulfillment, pallet building, receiving, inventory tracking, accurate labeling, and operation of basic warehouse equipment.
Experience & AttributesEducation & Training:
Multnomah County Food Handler s certificate required within 30 days of hire
Professional Experience:
1+ years working in a bakery preferred.

Food manufacturing experience a plus.

Understanding of food manufacturing, food safety, lot coding, and FIFO inventory
Personal Experience & Work Ethic:
Flexible in daily tasks and adaptable to growth and changeReliable attendanceDesire to maximize workflow, achieve goals, and follow standardsAttention to detail that prevents errors
Physical Requirements:
Stand and walk continuously during an 8-hour shiftAbility to regularly lift 40 poundsFrequent stooping, bending, twisting, pulling, pushing, reaching, and liftingAbout Portland Pet Food CompanyPPFC is an all-natural dog food and treat manufacturer.
