Union position Job Summary We are looking for creative Cake Decorators to join our Bakery teams! This position decorates cakes, cupcakes, pastries and other bakery products to create attractive displays, support sales and provide customers with beautifully designed special-order items. The ideal candidate is artistic, detail-oriented and committed to excellent customer service. A minimum of three months of commercial cake-decorating experience—or equivalent demonstrated experience and skill—is required. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Decorate cakes, cupcakes, pies, pastries and other bakery items using a variety of colors, flavors and decorating techniques. Create special-order cakes and other bakery items according to each customer's request. Work directly with customers to clarify designs, colors, messages and other special-order details. Prepare icings and other products needed for decorating. Prepare bakery items featured in weekly advertisements and promotions. Maintain attractive, well-stocked displays to support sales. Stock and organize bakery freezers, rotating finished products to maintain freshness and quality. Maintain accurate daily production and sales records, including products made and sold for advertised promotions. Conduct weekly inventories of bakery and decorating supplies. Order supplies as needed and verify that received quantities and invoices are accurate. Keep work areas, utensils and equipment clean and properly sanitized. Ensure equipment is clean, safe and in proper working condition. Conduct cake-decorating demonstrations as requested. Assist bakers, bakery sales associates and other team members as needed. Perform additional duties as assigned by the Bakery Manager. Qualifications Must be at least 18 years of age. Minimum of three months of commercial cake-decorating experience or equivalent demonstrated experience and skill. Creative, artistic and attentive to detail. Able to communicate pleasantly and effectively with customers, vendors and fellow employees. Friendly, outgoing and committed to providing excellent customer service. Able to work cooperatively and professionally as part of a team. Able to follow all food safety, sanitation and workplace safety requirements.
