Job Description
Overview The Pastry Cook team plays a key role in bringing The Buttery's pastries to life each day. In this role, you'll assist with preparing, scaling, mixing, shaping, baking, and finishing a wide range of pastry items in a high-volume, quality-driven kitchen. You'll follow established recipes and production guides, maintain consistency and accuracy in every batch, and help ensure our pastry program runs smoothly from start to finish. This is a hands-on position for someone who enjoys working with their hands, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and takes pride in craftsmanship. You'll support daily production, contribute to maintaining a clean and organized workspace, and work closely with the pastry team to meet deadlines and uphold The Buttery's standards of quality and care.
Key Responsibilities Production & Quality Control:
Prepare, portion, and bake a wide range of pastries and baked goods, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and adherence to recipes and quality standards.Process & Equipment Management:
Support daily production workflows by following established processes and operating bakery equipment safely, efficiently, and with care.Cleanliness & Food Safety:
Maintain a clean, organized, and food-safe work environment in accordance with all health and safety guidelines.Team Collaboration & Communication:
Work closely with the pastry, kitchen, and delivery teams to meet production timelines and communicate any product, inventory, or process needs.Growth & Improvement:
Bring a mindset of continuous learning- offering ideas to refine recipes, improve workflow, and support the overall success of the production team. Qualifications 1+ years of professional bread baking experience, preferably in a high-volume environment. Expertise in pastry production and techniques Strong understanding of baking science and ingredient functionality. Ability to work efficiently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality. Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed. Effective communication skills. Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for extended periods, and perform repetitive tasks.What We Offer Career Growth:
