At BKeDSHoP, we craft small-batch, hand-made donuts with a focus on quality ingredients, seasonal flavors, and creative flair. We believe baking is both an art and a science, and we're looking for passionate individuals who love early mornings, teamwork, and the smell of fresh donuts.
Position Overview:
The Donut Baker is responsible for preparing and producing a variety of artisan donuts, including yeasted and cake varieties, glazes, fillings, and toppings. This role requires consistency, efficiency, and a high attention to detail to maintain our high standards for taste, texture, and presentation.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare, mix, proof, and fry or bake various types of donut doughs. Hand-cut or mold donuts to spec, maintaining consistency in shape and size. Make glazes, icings, fillings, and toppings from scratch using premium ingredients. Glaze and finish donuts with an eye for visual appeal and portion accuracy. Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation at all times. Follow all food safety and health guidelines, including allergen protocols. Assist with prep work for the following day (dough prep, mise en place, etc.). Collaborate with the team to brainstorm and test new flavor ideas. Open or close the kitchen depending on the shift. Communicate inventory needs to the Kitchen Manager or Lead Baker.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in a commercial kitchen or bakery preferred, especially in bread, pastries, or donuts. Knowledge of basic baking techniques and familiarity with kitchen equipment. Ability to follow recipes and instructions precisely. Strong time management skills; able to work efficiently under pressure. Comfortable working early morning hours (shifts typically start between 2am-5am). Ability to lift 50 lbs, stand for long periods, and perform repetitive tasks. Team player with a positive attitude and a passion for quality.
