Bakery Associate

Overview:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Bakery Assistant. As a Bakery Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our bakery operations and ensuring customer satisfaction. This position requires strong math skills, excellent time management, and a passion for culinary arts.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with the production of baked goods, including measuring ingredients, mixing doughs, and preparing fillings
• Operate baking equipment such as ovens, mixers, and proofers
• Follow recipes and guidelines to ensure consistent quality and taste of baked goods
• Package and label finished products for display or sale
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of work area, including washing dishes and sanitizing surfaces
• Provide exceptional customer service by assisting customers with their bakery needs
• Handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently using a cash register
• Upsell bakery items to increase sales revenue
• Follow food safety protocols to ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of food products

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a bakery or food service environment is preferred but not required
• Strong math skills for measuring ingredients and calculating quantities
• Knowledge of culinary techniques and baking principles is a plus
• Ability to handle food safely and follow health and safety regulations
• Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Effective communication skills to interact with customers and team members
• Basic retail math skills for cash handling and upselling
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time and lift up to 25 pounds We offer competitive pay rates based on experience.
