Job description: Charger Cafe, a longstanding café at Cypress College, is reopening under a new operating team from California Dining Services, continuing to serve students, faculty, and staff with freshly prepared meals and beverages in a fast-paced and welcoming environment. Our management team brings over 100 years of combined experience in corporate and campus dining and hospitality. We are passionate about delivering great food and drinks while creating a supportive workplace where team members can grow their careers. This is an exciting opportunity to join the team as Charger Cafe prepares for its grand opening on August 20, 2026.
Work Schedule Cafe Hours:
Monday-Thursday, 8:00 AM - 3:00 PM; Friday, 8:00 AM - 2:00 PM Some shifts may start slightly earlier or run slightly later depending on open/close duties Closed weekends and college holidays/breaks This schedule provides a great work-life balance for hospitality professionals.
Job Overview:

Responsibilities Utilize POS systems to accurately process customer orders and payments Provide exceptional customer service by engaging with patrons in a friendly and professional manner Prepare and serve a variety of beverages with precision and attention to detail Adhere to food safety protocols to ensure the quality and freshness of all food and beverage items Demonstrate strong time management skills to efficiently handle peak service periods Handle cash transactions and maintain accurate cash handling procedures in accordance with company policies Qualifications Barista experience with a focus on coffee/beverage preparation and customer service Proficiency in POS systems and online ordering Strong time management skills and ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently Knowledge of food safety protocols and experience in food handling Basic math skills for cash handling and retail transactions Previous experience in casual dining or food service environments Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, guest-first attitude Strong problem-solving ability and a willingness to think on your feet during busy service periods This role offers an opportunity for growth — strong performers may be considered for promotion to Front of House Lead.

$19.00 - $20.00 per hour
