Job Summary:
Baristas at Sogno Toscano craft exceptional espresso drinks, maintain a clean and inviting coffee station, and provide warm, attentive service. They bring the café's Italian coffee culture to life through consistency, care, and genuine hospitality.
Responsibilities:
Prepare Coffee and Espresso Drinks:
Grind beans, brew coffee, and craft espresso‑based beverages such as lattes and cappuccinos. Froth milk properly and create consistent latte art.
Provide Guest Service:
Take to‑go orders, answer menu questions, and maintain a friendly, welcoming atmosphere for all guests.
Clean Work Area:
Keep the counter, espresso machine, grinders, and brewing equipment clean and sanitized. Wipe down tables, chairs, and guest areas, and empty trash bins as needed.
Restock Ingredients and Supplies:
Ensure adequate levels of coffee, milk, syrups, and other ingredients. Refill cups, lids, napkins, and other daily essentials.
Support Bar Operations:
Assist bartenders by preparing ingredients, restocking ice, wines and liquors, and cleaning glassware to help maintain efficient drink service.
Organize Storage Areas:
Keep back‑of‑house storage clean, organized, and properly labeled to ensure easy access to supplies.
House Team:
Help set and clean tables, prepare rollups, and run drinks to the correct tables to support smooth café operations.
- Perform bartender duties when a bartender is not scheduled. Be prepared to make any alcoholic or non‑alcoholic drink ordered by guests and assist bar guests with any needs
- Must be prepared to run food if necessary.
- Must know how to properly open and close the coffee bar.
- Complete all assigned daily checklists in full and obtain supervisor or manager approval before concluding your shift.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Strong beverage knowledge — coffee, wine, and cocktails.
- Maintain strong communication with both staff and guests and support cohesive teamwork at all times.
- Energetic, reliable, and eager to learn.
- Warm, engaging, and able to anticipate guest needs.
Employees must arrive in and wear the proper uniform assigned to their position. Our Manhattan Beach grand opening date is still to be determined, but will likely be on October 20, 2026. Until the new location opens, all training will take place at our Santa Monica and The Grove (Los Angeles) locations.
Pay:
From $16.90 per hour Expected hours: No more than 30.0 per week
