The ideal candidate has strong knowledge of espresso and coffee preparation, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to support and guide other team members in a fast-paced café environment. Key Responsibilities Prepare espresso, brewed coffee, tea, and specialty beverages according to café standards Dial in espresso and adjust grind, dose, and extraction to maintain consistent beverage quality Operate and maintain espresso machines, grinders, brewers, and other café equipment Welcome guests and provide friendly, knowledgeable, and professional service Answer questions about coffee, beverages, menu items, and café offerings Operate the POS system and process cash and card payments accurately Support and coach baristas and café team members during daily operations Help train new team members on beverage preparation, recipes, equipment, and service standards Coordinate bar workflow during busy service periods to maintain speed and accuracy Maintain consistent beverage presentation, quality, and portion standards Keep the coffee bar, counters, equipment, and service areas clean and organized Restock coffee beans, milk, syrups, cups, ingredients, and other café supplies Monitor inventory and communicate supply needs to management Follow food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures Assist with opening, closing, equipment cleaning, and daily café procedures Help address guest requests or service concerns professionally Perform additional duties assigned by café management Requirements Previous barista experience required; senior or lead barista experience preferred Strong knowledge of espresso preparation and specialty coffee Experience using commercial espresso machines and grinders Ability to maintain beverage quality and consistency during busy periods Strong communication, leadership, and teamwork skills Friendly, professional, and guest-focused attitude Ability to train and support other team members Basic POS and cash-handling experience Strong attention to cleanliness, organization, and detail Reliable attendance and punctuality Flexible availability, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays Ability to stand for extended periods and perform routine café duties Benefits Competitive compensation Flexible scheduling options Coffee and beverage training opportunities Supportive and team-oriented work environment Employee discounts may be available Opportunities for professional growth and advancement About the Company The Salty Donut is focused on creating a welcoming café experience through quality coffee, specialty beverages, handcrafted doughnuts, and friendly hospitality.
