Barista Position Summary The Barista is responsible for preparing and serving high-quality coffee, espresso beverages, teas, and other drinks while providing friendly and professional service to guests. The ideal candidate is energetic, customer-focused, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced hospitality environment. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Prepare and serve coffee, espresso, specialty beverages, teas, and other menu items according to established recipes and quality standards. Operate espresso machines, coffee brewers, grinders, blenders, and other beverage equipment safely and efficiently. Greet guests and provide prompt, friendly, and professional service. Take guest orders accurately and process cash, credit card, and other payments when applicable. Maintain knowledge of coffee, beverages, menu items, ingredients, and daily specials. Prepare beverages consistently while maintaining proper portion control and presentation. Keep the coffee station, counters, equipment, dining area, and service areas clean and organized. Restock coffee, milk, syrups, cups, lids, condiments, and other supplies as needed. Follow proper food handling, sanitation, and health and safety procedures. Monitor product freshness and notify management when supplies need to be replenished. Handle guest questions and concerns professionally and escalate issues to a supervisor when necessary. Assist with opening and closing duties, including equipment cleaning and station preparation. Work closely with other team members to ensure efficient service and a positive guest experience. Perform additional duties as assigned by management. Qualifications Previous barista, café, restaurant, hotel, or hospitality experience preferred. Excellent customer service and communication skills. Professional appearance and positive attitude. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Basic knowledge of coffee preparation and espresso beverages preferred. Ability to handle cash and point-of-sale transactions accurately. Dependable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to lift and carry supplies weighing up to 25-50 pounds as required. Ability to bend, reach, stoop, and move throughout the work area. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment for extended periods. Schedule Flexible availability, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Ability to work event-based or varying schedules depending on business needs. Preferred Skills Specialty coffee or espresso experience. Experience working in a hotel, resort, luxury property, or high-volume café. Knowledge of POS systems. Strong multitasking and time-management skills. Ability to create a welcoming and memorable guest experience.
