Job Description

Job Summary Talk Kaimuki is seeking an experienced, friendly, and dependable Lead Barista to support daily café operations and maintain high standards of coffee quality, beverage preparation, guest service, cleanliness, and teamwork. The ideal candidate has strong barista skills, enjoys coffee and hospitality, and can provide leadership and support to the café team during busy service periods. This position is a great opportunity for an experienced barista who enjoys working in a fast-paced, team-oriented café environment and helping other team members develop their skills. Key Responsibilities Prepare espresso, brewed coffee, tea, specialty beverages, and other drinks according to café standards Lead and support baristas and café team members during daily service Welcome guests and provide friendly, professional service Take food and beverage orders accurately and operate the POS system Process cash, card, and other payment transactions accurately Maintain consistent beverage quality, presentation, and portion standards Assist with training and coaching new and existing baristas Provide guidance to team members during busy service periods Operate and maintain espresso machines, grinders, brewers, and other café equipment Adjust grind settings and brewing parameters as needed to maintain coffee quality Answer questions about coffee, beverages, menu items, and available options Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming coffee bar Clean and sanitize equipment, utensils, counters, and workstations Restock coffee beans, milk, syrups, cups, food items, and other café supplies Monitor inventory and communicate supply needs to management Handle guest requests and concerns in a polite and professional manner Follow food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures Assist with opening, closing, and daily cleaning procedures Support café policies, procedures, and service standards Perform additional duties assigned by café management Requirements Previous barista or café experience required; lead or supervisory experience preferred Strong knowledge of coffee and espresso beverage preparation Friendly, professional, and guest-focused attitude Strong communication, leadership, and teamwork skills Ability to train, coach, and support other baristas Strong attention to detail and commitment to beverage quality Experience with POS systems and cash handling Ability to follow recipes, procedures, and service standards Reliable, punctual, and responsible work ethic Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced café environment Flexible availability, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays Preferred Skills Lead Barista, Senior Barista, or Café Supervisor experience Specialty coffee and espresso preparation experience Knowledge of coffee beans, grind settings, extraction, and brewing methods Experience training and mentoring baristas Commercial espresso machine and grinder experience Strong guest service and interpersonal skills Ability to multitask while maintaining beverage quality and accuracy Inventory and café supply management experience Strong organization and time-management skills Positive, team-oriented leadership style Benefits Benefits may vary based on position, location, employment status, and eligibility.

Pay:
$25.00 - $30.00 per hour Expected hours: 36.0 per week
