Job Summary Takagi Coffee Hawaii is seeking a friendly, dependable, and passionate Barista to join the café team. The successful candidate will prepare quality coffee and specialty beverages, welcome guests, take orders, operate the POS system, maintain a clean coffee bar, and support smooth daily café operations. The ideal candidate enjoys coffee and hospitality, pays attention to beverage quality and presentation, and works well in a fast-paced team environment. Key Responsibilities Welcome guests warmly and provide friendly, professional service Take food and beverage orders accurately and efficiently Prepare espresso, brewed coffee, tea, and specialty beverages according to café standards Operate espresso machines, grinders, brewers, and other café equipment safely Maintain consistent beverage quality, presentation, and portion standards Answer questions about menu items and assist guests with selections Operate the POS system and process cash, card, and other payments accurately Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming coffee bar Clean counters, tables, equipment, utensils, and service areas throughout the shift Restock coffee beans, milk, syrups, cups, food items, and other café supplies Assist with basic food and pastry preparation as needed Follow food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures Monitor supplies and report low-stock items to management Support team members during busy service periods Assist with opening, closing, and daily café cleaning duties Handle guest requests and concerns in a polite and professional manner Perform additional duties assigned by café management Requirements Previous barista, café, restaurant, or hospitality experience preferred but not required Basic knowledge of coffee and espresso beverage preparation Friendly, professional, and guest-focused attitude Strong communication and teamwork skills Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced café environment Good attention to detail and ability to follow recipes and procedures Basic POS and cash-handling experience is a plus Reliable attendance and punctuality Ability to stand for extended periods and perform routine café duties Flexible availability, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays Benefits Competitive hourly pay Tips where applicable Flexible scheduling options Barista and coffee training opportunities Employee coffee or café discounts may be available Paid time off for eligible employees Supportive and team-oriented work environment Opportunities for professional growth and advancement About the Company Takagi Coffee Hawaii is focused on quality coffee, carefully prepared beverages, and friendly hospitality.
