Position Summary The Barista is responsible for preparing and serving high-quality espresso-based beverages, drip coffee, and other menu items to REV Collective standards. This role requires strong technical skill with professional espresso equipment, a commitment to consistency, and excellent customer service. Baristas may also support light food service and kitchen coordination during service, as well as interacting with customers, taking orders at the POS system(s), and working the drive-thru window. Key Responsibilities Coffee Preparation & Quality Prepare espresso beverages using the La Marzocco KB90, dialing in shots via the Mahlkönig grind-by-sync system to maintain consistency and quality standards Monitor and adjust extraction variables (dose, yield, time) throughout the day as beans, humidity, and conditions change Steam and texture milk to standard for lattes, cappuccinos, and specialty drinks with attention to detail and traditional latte art presentation Taste and evaluate coffee regularly to catch quality drift Maintain cleanliness and calibration of espresso equipment Customer Service Greet and engage customers warmly, take orders accurately, and process payments Educate customers on coffee origins, brew methods, and menu items when asked Handle customer concerns professionally and escalate when needed Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming café environment Food & Kitchen Support Assist with basic food prep, plating, and expediting when needed Communicate clearly with kitchen staff during busy periods Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines Operations Follow opening/closing checklists and cash handling procedures Restock supplies and monitor inventory levels Maintain compliance with health and safety codes Participate in ongoing training, cuppings, and quality calibration sessions Qualifications Required Strong attention to detail and consistency Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask under pressure Reliable, punctual, and able to work early mornings and weekends Basic math skills for cash handling and recipe measurements Food handler's card (or willingness to obtain within 7 days of hire) Preferred Prior barista or customer service experience Experience with high-end espresso equipment (La Marzocco, Slayer, Synesso, etc.) Familiarity with grind-by-weight/grind-by-sync dosing systems (Mahlkönig, Mythos, etc.) Knowledge of coffee origins, processing methods, and brewing science Ability to pour traditional latte art patterns (hearts, rosettas, tulips) Experience in a full-service kitchen or food-and-beverage environment Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods (up to 8 hours) Ability to lift up to 20 lbs (bags of beans, milk crates, supplies) Comfortable working near hot equipment and in a fast-paced kitchen/bar environment Why Join Us Hands-on training from our Head Barista(s) and continued on-the-job development Complimentary drinks and food on shift (policy shared during onboarding) Work on serious, professional equipment Be part of the founding team at a new, independent Treasure Valley concept Room to grow as the team and the coffee program expand A workplace grounded in real values, not corporate talking points
