PART-TIME BARISTA - THE OTHER SIDE CAFE
Crystal Lake, IL | Part-Time About Us The Other Side Cafe is more than a coffee shop — we are a sober café and community space dedicated to creating a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for everyone. We proudly serve individuals in recovery, those living a sober lifestyle, and anyone seeking a positive substance-free place to connect, relax, and build community. We are looking for dependable, friendly, and motivated individuals who enjoy working in a relaxed and welcoming café environment and value kindness, inclusivity, and genuine customer connection. Position Summary The Barista is responsible for preparing high-quality coffee, espresso beverages, specialty drinks, and food items while delivering exceptional customer service. This role requires attention to detail, multitasking, reliability, and a positive attitude. This is a part-time position. Responsibilities Prepare coffee, espresso drinks, teas, and other menu items consistently and efficiently Greet customers and provide friendly, professional customer service Take customer orders and operate the POS system accurately Maintain cleanliness of café, dining area, and workstations Restock supplies and assist with opening and closing duties Work collaboratively with team members during busy periods Follow food safety and sanitation standards Help create a warm and welcoming atmosphere for all guests Communicate customer or operational concerns to management as needed Qualifications Positive attitude and strong work ethic Dependable and punctual Ability to multitask Strong communication and customer service skills Comfortable working in a community-focused, mission-driven environment Café or food service experience is preferred but not required Compensation & Schedule Starting pay is $15/hr plus tips. Team members typically earn additional hourly income through tip sharing. We are currently seeking applicants with flexible availability, which may include: Day shifts Evening shifts Weekend availability Some holiday availability Requirements Must be at least 18 years old Food Handler Certification required within 30 days of hire Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs Why Join The Other Side Cafe?
