Part-Time (2-3 shifts per week) About the Role We aren't your average coffee shop. We are a Solar Design & Installation firm that believes the best way to talk about the future is over a great cup of coffee. We are looking for a professional, outgoing Barista to run our on-site cafe. In this role, you'll be the "face" of our space. While your primary focus is crafting high-quality specialty coffee and tea, you will also play a key role in our mission to make renewable energy accessible. You'll work alongside our Solar Consultants in a collaborative, high-tech showroom environment. Must obtain IL Food Manager License (paid for by Windfree).
What You'll Do Craft Quality Coffee:
Dial in espresso, steam milk to perfection, and serve our signature "Solar-themed" menu. Be the
Bridge:
Act as the first point of contact for guests. When customers ask about the tech in our shop, you'll provide a friendly "high-level" overview and introduce them to our on-site Solar Rep. Help support sustainability events in the cafe. Maintain the
Vibe:
Keep the cafe and showroom area sparkling clean, organized, and inviting. Manage the
Floor:
As the sole barista on shift, you will handle opening/closing duties, and point-of-sale transactions. Advocate for
Solar:
Learn the basics of how our shop is powered so you can share "fun facts" with our community of regulars.
Who You Are Experienced:
At least 1 year of specialty coffee experience (dialing in espresso, latte art, etc.).
A People Person:
You genuinely enjoy chatting with strangers and can explain complex ideas (like solar) in a simple, friendly way.
Reliable:
Since you'll be the only barista on shift, punctuality and self-motivation are non-negotiable.
Mission-Driven:
You have an interest in renewable energy, sustainability, or environmental tech. Must have an IL Food Manager License or be ready to complete the training.
Pay:
$18.00 per hour
