Duties :
A Starbucks Barista is responsible for providing excellent customer service while preparing and serving high-quality coffee, espresso beverages, food, and other menu items. Responsibilities include taking customer orders, operating the register/POS system, preparing beverages according to recipes and standards, maintaining a clean and organized work area, restocking products and supplies, and following all food safety and sanitation procedures. Baristas should be friendly, dependable, able to work in a fast-paced environment, and comfortable working as part of a team. Additional responsibilities may include assisting with opening and closing duties, cleaning equipment and work areas, and helping create a welcoming experience for all customers.
Responsibilities:
Provide friendly and welcoming customer service Take customer orders and process payments using the POS system Prepare coffee, espresso drinks, and other beverages according to recipes Prepare and serve food items as needed Maintain a clean and organized workspace Restock cups, lids, syrups, milk, food, and other supplies Follow all food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness procedures Clean equipment, counters, tables, and customer areas Assist with opening and closing duties Monitor product levels and notify supervisors when supplies are low Handle customer questions and concerns in a professional manner Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment Follow all company and workplace policies and procedures Work collaboratively with team members and supervisors
Required Qualifications:
Must be a currently enrolled Benedictine student in good standing.
Physical Requirements :
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to touch, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds. Use of computer screen, phone and customer service. May require bending or sitting for long periods of time. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The following of campus specific guidelines for pandemic protocols is required.
Training :
As a University employee you are required to complete all University-specific and/or OSHA related training to fulfill your job duties. Specific training will be conducted online or in person. Employees must complete all trainings required by Benedictine University.
