Mobile Barista - Travelin' Tom's Coffee of Annapolis Travelin' Tom's of Annapolis is looking for a high-energy, independent, and reliable Mobile Barista to join our team. This isn't your average coffee shop job—you'll be operating a state-of-the-art mobile coffee truck, bringing premium beverages directly to schools, festivals, and private events across the Annapolis area. This might be the role for you. The Role As a Mobile Barista, you are the face of Travelin' Tom's. You are responsible for the entire "guest experience," from driving the truck to the site to serving up perfect lattes and lemonades.

Key Responsibilities:

Drive & Operate:

Safely navigate a specialized coffee truck (comparable in size to a standard grey Amazon delivery van). Service with

Speed:

Efficiently craft a variety of hot and cold beverages while maintaining a friendly, upbeat attitude in a fast-paced environment.

Solo Management:

Work independently to manage your inventory, set up the truck, and handle transactions.

Troubleshoot:

Perform basic on-site troubleshooting of equipment (espresso machines, grinders, and generators) to keep the line moving.

Maintain Standards:

Keep the truck exceptionally clean and compliant with all health and safety regulations.

Requirements Age:

Must be 18 years or older .

Driving Record:

Must possess a valid driver's license and a clean driving record (Insurance requires a driving background check). Experience driving larger vehicles is a plus-- willingness to drive a vehicle roughly the size of the grey Amazon Delivery vans (Chevy 3500 Express).

Reliability:

You must be punctual and dependable; the truck doesn't move without you.

Personality:

Naturally outgoing and able to engage with a wide variety of customers.

Technical Aptitude:

Ability to think on your feet and solve minor mechanical or equipment issues as they arise. Why Join Travelin' Tom's?

Independence:

No manager hovering over your shoulder—you run your own "mobile café." You will often be on your own, with the owners (they are awesome), or with another person.

Variety:

Every day is a different location with different people. Half planned event but most days will be you picking up the truck and hitting great corporate offices and other locations.

Competitive Pay:

Hourly wage is $17, but if you are a current barista and make a bit more, we can talk about matching hourly. The current tip rate is about 25% of sales and each location does about $150-$200 in sales per hour.. so do the math on tips :)

Paid Training:

You will be paid to come learn how to operate the vehicle and make drinks.

Promotion Potential:

We are a new, small locally veteran owned business in Annapolis (franchise). I will be hiring people and will need managers eventually if that is your thing. Otherwise, this is a great opportunity to make great cash and deal with people who are very excited to see you. You will need transportation to get to the truck in the mornings.
