Overview Join our vibrant Biggby team as a dynamic and enthusiastic Barista or Shift Leader! In this role, you will be the heartbeat of our café, delivering exceptional customer service while expertly preparing coffee and food items. As a Shift Leader, you'll also take charge of supervising daily operations, ensuring smooth service flow, maintaining food safety standards, and motivating your team to deliver memorable experiences. Responsibilities Prepare and serve high-quality coffee beverages and food items with precision and care, ensuring consistency and customer satisfaction Manage daily shift operations efficiently, including opening, closing, and overseeing staff responsibilities Provide outstanding customer service by engaging with guests warmly and resolving any issues promptly Supervise team members on the floor, delegating tasks and supporting their development to foster a positive work environment Ensure compliance with food safety standards and proper food handling procedures at all times Handle cash register transactions accurately using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS, including cash handling and cashiering duties Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café area, adhering to health regulations and safety protocols Requirements Proven experience as a barista with strong knowledge of coffee preparation techniques and food service operations is a preferred but no required. Previous leadership or supervisory experience in a café or retail setting is preferred Familiarity with POS systems like Aloha POS or Micros POS for sales transactions Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently during busy periods Strong customer service skills with a friendly, energetic attitude Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math calculations, and accurate register balancing Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures Ability to work flexible hours including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed Food industry experience is highly desirable; serving or cashiering experience is a plus Embark on a rewarding journey where your enthusiasm fuels our success!
