Job Description
Overview We are seeking a delightful team member who brings positive energy, enthusiasm, and a friendly attitude to help create a welcoming, fun, and interactive café environment. This part-time position is well suited for individuals seeking a flexible work schedule while becoming a dependable member of our team. We welcome applicants balancing school, another job, or other commitments who can provide consistent availability and reliably work their scheduled shifts. As a Boba Tea Barista, you will be responsible for crafting high-quality beverages, assisting with food and ingredient preparation, and providing exceptional customer service and hospitality. Your role involves not only preparing specialty tea and coffee drinks, but also helping ensure our customers have a delightful experience every time they visit. You are welcome and encouraged to stop by in person to submit a resume or meet the hiring manager. Duties Provide excellent customer service and hospitality by warmly greeting customers, taking orders accurately, answering questions, and creating a welcoming and memorable guest experience. Accurately read prep sheets, recipes, and instructions to ensure consistency and quality in our beverages and food products. Operate the Point-of-Sale (POS) system for order processing and cash handling. Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the café, including drink preparation areas, dining spaces, and equipment. Follow food safety and handling procedures to maintain a safe environment for employees and customers. Learn our menu and confidently assist customers with selections and recommendations. Work cooperatively with other team members and help maintain smooth operations during busy periods. Requirements A genuine passion for hospitality and providing excellent customer service. Reliability, dependability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic. Commitment to supporting coworkers and being someone the team and our customers can count on for scheduled shifts. A positive and professional attitude, self-motivation, willingness to learn, and desire for personal and professional growth. Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Basic math and cash-handling skills. Previous barista, café, restaurant, or food-service experience is preferred but not required. Previous POS experience is preferred but not required. Food preparation and food-safety experience is preferred but not required. No prior Food Handler certification is required. Boba CuCue provides and pays for required Food Handler training during onboarding. Pay & Growth The pay range listed by Indeed is base hourly pay and does not include tips . Employees earn tips in addition to their base hourly wage. Recent employee tips have averaged approximately $5.00 per hour worked. Tips vary and are not guaranteed. Boba CuCue offers opportunities for advancement based on demonstrated performance, reliability, consistency, operational knowledge, initiative, and leadership—not simply length of employment. Our Hiring Process Selected candidates may be invited to participate in an approximately one-hour in-shop observation/shadowing period.
