Job Description
Overview We are seeking a dependable, enthusiastic team member who is looking for a consistent, year-round position of approximately 32-39 hours per week and enjoys creating a welcoming, fun, and interactive café environment. As a Core Boba Tea Barista , you will be an important part of the stability and consistency of our team. Core Team Members maintain broad, dependable availability and receive an additional $1.00 per hour Core Pay Differential above the regular base pay for their position. As a Boba Tea Barista, you will be responsible for crafting high-quality beverages, assisting with food and ingredient preparation, and providing exceptional customer service and hospitality. Your role involves not only preparing specialty tea and coffee drinks but also helping ensure our customers have a delightful experience every time they visit. Duties Provide excellent customer service and hospitality by greeting customers warmly, taking orders accurately, addressing any inquiries or concerns with an emphasis on creating a welcoming, memorable guest experience where every customer feels valued, appreciated, and excited to return. Accurately read prep sheets, follow instructions, prepare beverages and food items according to recipes, prep sheets, and established procedures to ensure quality, consistency, and accuracy in a variety of beverages. Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system and accurately handle cash and other transactions. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café, including drink preparation areas, dining spaces, and welcoming work equipment. Adhere to food safety and handling guidelines, proper food preparation, and sanitation to ensure a safe environment for both staff and customers. Learn our menu and confidently assist customers with selections and recommendations. Engage in sales techniques to promote menu items and enhance customer experience. Work cooperatively with other team members and help maintain smooth operations during busy periods. Core Position Requirements This position is specifically intended for applicants seeking consistent, substantial, year-round employment, rather than short-term or seasonal work. Core Team Members are normally scheduled approximately 32-39 hours per week. Weekly hours may vary based on business needs and other operational circumstances. Core status does not guarantee a specific number of hours in any given week. Successful candidates must be able and willing to maintain sufficient and consistent availability to support a Core schedule. We are looking for someone who: Has a genuine, positive and professional attitude, strong self-motivation, willingness to learn, and desire for personal and professional growth. Has a genuine passion for serving others, providing hospitality and excellent customer service to our customers. Is reliable, dependable, consistent, stable, punctual, and has a strong work ethic. Understands the importance of being someone the team can count on, committed to supporting their coworkers, and taking pride in being someone our customers can count on. Works well as part of a team and is willing to help others when needed. Can effectively manage time and handle multiple tasks and priorities efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Has basic math and cash-handling skills. Previous barista, restaurant, café, or food-service experience is preferred but not required. Previous POS experience is preferred but not required. Food preparation and food-safety experience are preferred but not required. Boba CuCue provides and pays for required Food Handler training. Pay & Growth The pay range listed by Indeed is base hourly pay and does not include tips . Employees earn tips in addition to their base hourly wage. Recent employee tips have averaged approximately $5.00 per hour worked. Tips vary and are not guaranteed. Core Team Members receive a $1.00 per hour Core Pay Differential above the regular base pay for their position. Advancement opportunities are available based on demonstrated performance, reliability, consistency, operational knowledge, initiative, and leadership—not simply length of employment. Our Hiring Process Selected candidates may be invited to participate in an approximately one-hour in-shop observation/shadowing period.
