Asheville Dispensary is a sophisticated cannabis dispensary and coffee/tea/herbal elixir lounge concept, where knowledge and education are of the highest priority. We create a specialized experience for the customer when they enter our facilities tailored to their personal needs - rarely are they just buying a beverage. We seek to engage with the customer in a way that represents us as an axis for health, knowledge, and enjoyment. Our bar and apothecary offerings are vast, diverse, unique, and deeply intentional. We work with direct-trade coffee and tea producers to serve artisanal coffee and tea experiences. We have state of the art La Marzocco espresso machines and Mahlkonig grinders to serve the highest quality espresso, and regularly hold trainings to improve knowledge and skills. We see coffee as a super-plant with a host of medicinal properties and benefits when respected through the process. We want to do something different with coffee, and bring relationship with the plant back. We also offer traditional Chinese tea service - Gong Fu Cha. You will be trained in the mindful art of Chinese tea - extra bonus points for experience and strong interest! In addition, we serve healthy, high-quality, natural boba drinks without additives or fillers. We collaborate with The NOHM Collective to spread plant medicine and magic through a variety of herbal elixirs. We are looking for an experienced barista in specialty coffee - single origin and light roast varieties primarily. We are committed to serving the most tasteful and medicinal espresso in Asheville and are looking for someone in alignment with that vision. It's also important to have a strong interest in plant medicine and herbal use, as we have a variety of health-focused offerings. Attention to details, ability and confidence in interacting and educating customers when necessary are important. The sharing of knowledge and education is of utmost importance to us here at Asheville Dispensary and we serve as a community hub and resource for exploring and learning about plant medicine and offerings. Our goal is to help keep plant medicine at the forefront of Appalachian culture, and enhance access to healthy, holistic, vital, experiential living for the community.

Requirements:

Experience and skills as a specialty barista - using semi-automatic machines and light/medium roast beans Interest in herbalism or professional/personal education in herbalism Self or professional study of natural medicine and/or plant knowledge Interest and/or experience in Chinese tea/Gong Fu Cha Strong capacity for and interest in learning Ability to juggle a multitude of knowledge sets Strong capacity for speaking to people/groups of customers Outgoing, friendly personality Experience in customer service
