JOB TITLE
Bartender / Cook
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Pineville Ice House seeks weekday evening and weekend employees for our Food & Beverage department. These are part-time positions -- with the potential to be full-time for the right candidate(s) -- that combines customer-facing and back-of-house operations within our Bar and Restaurant. Our ice rink is conveniently located in Pineville, NC, just south of Uptown Charlotte and provides year-round programs for hockey, figure skating and recreational skating. Previous experience working as a bartender or in the food service industry is preferred but not required. Training will be provided for candidates who demonstrate the necessary skills and enthusiasm for the role.
BARTENDING RESPONSIBILITIES
(18+): Take customer orders and provide food and drink recommendations Pour and serve alcoholic (beer and wine only) and non-alcoholic beverages to customers Maintain a clean and organized bar area Check identification to verify legal drinking age Handles cash and credit transactions and operate cash registers Interact with customers in a friendly and professional manner Monitor customer alcohol consumptions and prevent over-intoxication Adhere to all food handling and safety regulations
COOK / KITCHEN RESPONSIBILITIES
Efficiently and safely prepare and cook menu items using commercial fryers, ovens and griddle Maintain a clean and organized kitchen and food preparation areas Adhere to all North Carolina food handling and safety regulations Collaborate with bar/kitchen team members to ensure timely and accurate food production Assist in receiving and storing food supplies
DESIRED SKILLS
Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage and interact with customers in a positive manner Ability to handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently Basic math skills for calculating bills, making change, and processing payments Attention to detail to accurately place orders Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining composure under pressure Knowledge of restaurant operations and ability to work as part of a team
SCHEDULE & AVAILABILITY
PART-TIME -- Shift lengths are typically 6-8 hours.
Weekdays:
between 4:30 p.m. and 1 a.m.;
Weekends:
between 9 a.m. and 1 a.m. Shifts are available year-round at 20-30 hours per week. Part-time applicants must be available Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Weekday closing shifts available.
FULL-TIME HOURLY
-- Core schedule of Friday through Tuesday.
COMPENSATION
$10-12 per hour, plus tips. Tip pooling for credit card tips average $4-9 per hour depending on the season.
