Full-time and part-time positions available. Applicants must be available for shifts beginning as early as 5:30 AM and ending as late as 9:00 PM , including weekends and holidays. Position Summary Longboards Coffee Shop is seeking friendly, dependable, and energetic Market Associates/Baristas to provide exceptional service in a fast-paced resort environment. This position is responsible for preparing quality coffee and specialty beverages, assisting guests with market purchases, operating the point-of-sale system, maintaining a clean and organized workspace, and creating a welcoming experience for hotel guests and local customers. The ideal candidate enjoys working with people, takes pride in accuracy and presentation, and understands that genuine hospitality goes beyond completing a transaction—it means making every guest feel noticed, welcomed, and appreciated. Essential Responsibilities Greet every guest promptly with a friendly and professional attitude. Prepare espresso beverages, brewed coffee, teas, smoothies, and other specialty drinks according to established recipes and presentation standards. Accurately take orders and assist guests with beverage, food, and market-product selections. Operate the point-of-sale system and process cash, credit card, room-charge, and other approved payments. Maintain accurate cash-handling procedures and properly open, manage, and close the register when assigned. Serve pastries, breakfast items, snacks, grab-and-go foods, and other market products. Restock coffee supplies, cups, lids, condiments, food items, retail merchandise, and refrigerated products throughout the shift. Monitor product quality, freshness, expiration dates, and proper rotation using FIFO procedures. Maintain clean and organized counters, equipment, display cases, refrigerators, shelving, storage areas, and guest seating spaces. Clean and sanitize espresso machines, coffee brewers, blenders, utensils, work surfaces, and other equipment according to established procedures. Follow all food-safety, sanitation, health-code, and responsible cash-handling requirements. Communicate product shortages, equipment concerns, guest feedback, and operational needs to management. Assist with opening and closing duties, including stocking, cleaning, preparing equipment, securing merchandise, and completing required checklists. Work collaboratively with fellow associates and other hotel departments to provide a seamless guest experience. Perform additional duties as assigned by management. Qualifications Previous barista, cashier, restaurant, retail, or customer-service experience is preferred but not required. Strong communication and guest-service skills. Ability to learn beverage recipes and prepare orders consistently and efficiently. Comfortable handling money and operating a point-of-sale system. Dependable, punctual, organized, and able to maintain a positive attitude during busy periods. Ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and work independently when necessary. Must be available to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays based on business needs. Knowledge of coffee, espresso preparation, and food-safety practices is a plus. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to bend, reach, lift, and carry up to 30 pounds. Ability to safely operate beverage equipment and perform repetitive tasks. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
