This is a hands-on hospitality position for someone who enjoys working with people and can comfortably move between coffee service, café service, and light bartending. Our ideal candidate is friendly, reliable, organized, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining excellent customer service. The position includes preparing coffee and espresso drinks, specialty café beverages, simple alcoholic beverages, taking orders, handling payments, maintaining a clean work area, and supporting the overall guest experience. Key Responsibilities Prepare coffee, espresso drinks, lattes, cappuccinos, teas, refreshers, and specialty café beverages. Learn and consistently follow Inner City Café drink recipes and presentation standards. Prepare simple alcoholic beverages such as mimosas, bellinis, wine, beer, and signature cocktails. Provide light bartending support during brunch, happy hour, evening service, and special events. Check identification and follow all applicable alcohol-service requirements. Greet customers and provide friendly, professional, and attentive service. Take food and beverage orders accurately using the POS system. Handle cash and credit card transactions responsibly. Assist customers with menu questions and recommendations. Maintain proper portioning, presentation, and beverage consistency. Keep the coffee station, beverage area, bar, counters, and equipment clean and organized. Restock coffee, milk, syrups, mixers, garnishes, cups, napkins, utensils, and other supplies. Assist with opening and closing duties. Maintain cleanliness of tables and customer areas when needed. Assist with café events, brunch service, happy hour, karaoke nights, and private events. Follow food safety, sanitation, customer service, cash-handling, and workplace policies. Work cooperatively with kitchen, service, and management staff during busy periods. Perform other café duties as needed. Qualifications Previous barista, café, restaurant, bartending, or customer-service experience preferred. Basic bartending experience or knowledge is a plus. Must be comfortable preparing both non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages. Must meet all legal requirements applicable to serving alcoholic beverages. Strong customer-service and communication skills. Reliable and punctual with consistent attendance. Able to work independently and as part of a team. Comfortable working in a fast-paced hospitality environment. Able to multitask and remain organized during busy service periods. Willing to learn recipes, procedures, and Inner City Café service standards. Basic cash-handling and math skills. Professional appearance and good personal hygiene are required.
