Job Summary We are seeking a friendly and efficient Barista to join our café team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional customer service, prepare high-quality coffee and food items, and maintain a clean and welcoming environment. This role offers an opportunity to work in a vibrant café setting, engaging with customers and honing skills in food service and retail operations. Must have a Certificate of Food Protection or obtain one soon. Duties Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, teas, and specialty drinks with precision and consistency. Operate POS systems such as Square for order processing and cash handling. Take customer orders accurately, ensuring prompt service while maintaining excellent customer relations. Handle cash transactions, process payments, and give correct change efficiently. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in food preparation areas, counters, and seating areas in accordance with food safety regulations. Assist with food preparation tasks including basic food handling, serving food items, and managing inventory levels. Manage time effectively during busy periods to ensure timely service without compromising quality. Uphold food safety standards and proper food handling procedures at all times. Support team members as needed to ensure smooth café operations. Skills Proven experience as a Barista or in the food industry with strong knowledge of coffee preparation techniques. Familiarity with POS systems such as Square POS for efficient sales processing. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with diverse customers. Strong time management skills to handle multiple orders during peak hours smoothly. Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math, and accurate order processing. Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
