A Barista prepares and serves coffee and other beverages at coffee houses or coffee bars. Takes customer orders, serves baked goods and snacks, runs and maintains coffee making equipment and monitors supplies.
Batch Coffee is a state-of-the-art cafe, drive thru and coffee roasting facility. We are looking for a Barista who matches the drive and excellence that is Batch Coffee. The facility features a Dierich DR-25 coffee roaster, a espresso machines and two Frankee automatic espresso machines, Fetco Brewers and a beautiful vibrant upbeat cafe.
Responsibilities:
A Barista is a professional who makes and serves beverages such as coffee, espresso, tea, specialty beverages, and food. They are responsible for taking customer orders and payments. They also clean and sanitize their work areas, seating areas and equipment/tools.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Customer Service:
Greet customers warmly, take accurate orders, answer questions about ingredients, and provide menu recommendations based on preferences.
Beverage Preparation:
Prepare hot and cold drinks—including espresso drinks, drip coffee, teas, cold brew, lemonade, house made syrups, and specialty beverages—following strict company recipes and quality standards.
Equipment Operation:
Safely operate, maintain, and troubleshoot coffee grinders, espresso machines, blenders, and brewing equipment.
Cash Handling:
Process cash and credit card transactions accurately using our Point-of-sales system
Cleanliness and Sanitation:
Adhere to strict health, safety, and hygiene regulations. Keep workstations, countertops, and seating areas clean and sanitized.
Can do multiple tasks at once efficiently and in a timely manner
Organization:
Works in in an organized manor and keeps things clean and tidy while doing tasks.
Team Player:
Works well with a team as well as a by oneself Self-motivated and punctual: On time for shifts and is a self-starter
Experience:
Previous experience as a barista or in a similar customer service/food service role is preferred.
Knowledge:
Familiarity with coffee roasting profiles, brewing techniques, and basic latte art is a plus.
Communication:
Exceptional listening and verbal communication skills to interact with customers and collaborate with team members.
Physical Demands:
Must be able to stand for extended periods, bend, reach, and lift up to 30 pounds.
Flexibility:
Availability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, nights and weekends, and holidays. Weekends are a must.
