Part-Time Local Nest is looking for a friendly, dependable, and motivated barista to join our team. We are a community-focused coffee shop in Glen Spey serving specialty coffee, matcha, chai, pastries, breakfast items, and more. We're looking for someone who genuinely enjoys working with people, takes pride in their work, and understands that reliability, communication, and consistency are incredibly important in a small business.

Responsibilities include:

Preparing espresso drinks, lattes, cappuccinos, matcha, chai, and other specialty beverages Providing warm and welcoming customer service Taking orders and accurately operating the POS system Preparing and serving pastries and simple food items Keeping the coffee bar, equipment, counters, and customer areas clean and organized Restocking supplies throughout the shift Opening and/or closing the coffee shop when scheduled Following food safety and sanitation standards Working efficiently during busy periods while maintaining quality Communicating promptly and professionally with management and coworkers

Skills:

Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills Strong communication skills Ability to multitask and stay organized during busy periods Attention to detail and consistency when preparing drinks and food Basic cash handling and POS system skills Ability to learn espresso equipment and beverage recipes Good time management and ability to prioritize tasks Ability to work independently and take initiative Strong teamwork and problem-solving skills Ability to maintain cleanliness and follow food safety procedures Dependability and punctuality Ability to remain friendly and professional in a fast-paced environment We're looking for someone who is: Reliable and punctual Friendly, positive, and comfortable talking with customers Responsible and able to work independently Organized and attentive to detail Comfortable in a fast-paced environment A team player who is willing to help wherever needed Able to maintain a clean and professional workspace Available for scheduled weekend shifts Previous barista or coffee shop experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right person who is motivated, dependable, and eager to learn. Local Nest is more than just a coffee shop. We're a community gathering space, and we want our customers to feel welcomed and cared for when they walk through the door.
