A Barista prepares and serves coffee and other beverages at coffee houses or coffee bars. Takes customer orders, serves baked goods and snacks, runs and maintains coffee making equipment and monitors supplies.
Prepare and serve a variety of freshly made tea beverages, including those made with fruits, milk, tea, tapioca pearls, and other creative toppings, following established recipes and quality standards. Ensure the correct ingredients and proportions are used for each drink, including tea, milk, fresh fruits, tapioca pearls, and other toppings. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the barista station, including prepping ingredients (e.g., cutting fruits) and cleaning equipment. Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers, taking orders, and offering recommendations. Assist in inventory management, ensuring all ingredients (including fruits) and supplies are stocked and stored properly. Adhere to company health and safety regulations, ensuring a safe and clean environment for customers and staff. Handle cash and process transactions accurately and efficiently. Assist in training new team members on drink preparation and operational procedures. Support store operations as needed, including working overtime hours when required by business needs and in compliance with applicable labor laws. Stay updated on new menu items, seasonal specials, and promotions to enhance the customer experience. Perform other duties as assigned by the Store Manager or Supervisor.
Shift Expectations Day Shift:
Team members are expected to arrive on time and complete opening preparation tasks, including setup and ingredient prep. This role requires strong time management skills and a high sense of responsibility.
Night Shift:
Team members will support closing operations, including end-of-day cleaning and organizing tasks. Night shifts are eligible for a shift allowance, in accordance with company policy. Training & Growth Opportunities The store operates with multiple workstations and responsibilities. Team members are expected to demonstrate strong hands-on ability and a willingness to learn. New hires will start from foundational tasks and gradually receive position-based training and assessments. Based on performance and successful completion of evaluations, team members may be eligible for pay increases or internal promotion opportunities.
Qualifications:
Prior experience in retail, food service, or hospitality industries. Strong leadership and decision-making skills. Excellent communication and customer service abilities. Physical & Essential Job Requirements (for Barista) As a barista, you are expected to perform a range of essential job functions in a fast-paced, customer-facing retail environment. You must be able to perform the following duties, with or without reasonable accommodation: Stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8 hours per shift) Lift and carry items weighing up to 30 pounds, including ingredients, containers, and supplies Reach, bend, twist, and perform repetitive hand and wrist movements for drink preparation Move throughout the store to interact with team members, operate equipment, and serve customers Work in a loud, high-energy environment with fluctuating temperatures Follow food safety, sanitation, and equipment cleaning procedures Communicate effectively with customers and team members in a clear and professional manner You must be able to meet these physical and functional requirements as part of your essential duties in this role.
