Job Overview We're looking for baristas to be a part of the Plaza District's newest coffee shop, Arnold's Cafe! We plan to open early fall, so if you're excited about being a part of a new coffee shop, this job is great for you. This role will involve operating a POS (point of sale) system, making drinks, cleaning, and helping insure that every customer feels valued and welcomed. We want people who are passionate about people and coffee. No experience is required, just come with an attitude willing and ready to learn and we'll be happy to train you. This will primarily be a part-time position with opportunities to move towards full-time in the future. About Us Arnold's Cafe will be serving espresso based drinks, teas, and some house-made baked goods. Our two focuses are people and coffee - in that order. We will be a business that puts others first, but guarantees that every drink we deliver is the best it can be. Responsibilities Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, teas, and specialty drinks with consistency Engage with customers kindly, making sure that each patron feels seen and welcome Help clean, do dishes, and the regular behind the scenes work of a barista Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately for transactions, orders, and payments Follow food safety management practices to uphold health regulations and quality standards Keep the work area tidy, organized, and stocked with supplies to ensure smooth operations Requirements Enthusiasm and willingness to learn are essential Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and positively Ability to operate POS systems efficiently during busy periods Knowledge of food safety standards and protocols for handling beverages and ingredients Capable of standing for extended periods while maintaining high energy levels
