Barista Coffee Connection - 3.7 Smithfield, RI Job Details Full-time $16 - $17 an hour 3 hours ago Benefits Employee discount Flexible schedule Qualifications Customer communication Café experience Basic math Attention to detail Full Job Description Coffee Connection is looking for upbeat, dependable Baristas to join our front-of-house team. In this role, you'll be responsible for crafting high-quality coffee and espresso beverages, preparing açaí bowls and other café items, and providing excellent customer service. You'll also handle transactions, keep the customer area clean and inviting, and maintain a positive, team-focused attitude during every shift.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare a wide variety of beverages including espresso drinks, teas, cold brews, and specialty drinks. Assemble and serve fresh açaí bowls and other light food items with care and consistency. Greet every customer with a friendly, welcoming attitude and provide exceptional service. Accurately take orders and operate the point-of-sale (POS) system for cash and card transactions. Keep the barista station clean, organized, and well-stocked throughout the day. Monitor and maintain the lobby area, including tables, condiment station, and trash/recycling bins. Restock front-of-house supplies (cups, lids, straws, milk, napkins, etc.) during service and as part of opening/closing duties. Adhere to all food safety and sanitation procedures. Collaborate with teammates to ensure smooth service and a positive environment.
Qualifications:
Prior barista, café, or food service experience is a plus but not required—training is provided. Strong communication and customer service skills. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail. Basic math skills and comfort handling cash and card payments. Positive attitude, reliability, and a willingness to pitch in wherever needed. Flexibility to work mornings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.
Physical Requirements:
Able to stand and move for extended periods of time. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and perform repetitive tasks. Comfortable working in a high-energy, fast-paced setting.
