Job Overview The team at Owlbear Cafe is seeking to hire a new Barista in either a Part-Time or Full-Time position. Whether you're a seasoned pro or new to the cafe world, if you're passionate about great coffee, great food, and great service then we'd love to meet you. Owlbear is a family-friendly cafe located in Mt Pleasant, founded in 2021, and is locally owned and operated. We're thrilled to serve our community by offering some of the best breakfast, coffee, and tea in town. Must have weekend availability . This position is a hybrid role involving both front and back of house responsibilities, though the level of each will depend upon experience and the needs of the business. Right now, our needs lean more towards back of house, so if that's where your experience lies, great! However, we're always happy to meet people who are excited and knowledgeable about coffee. Duties Prepare a variety of coffee and non-coffee beverages with precision and flair, including espresso drinks, teas, and specialty drinks Process retail sales transactions accurately using POS Greet customers warmly, take their orders efficiently, and provide excellent customer service throughout their visit Maintain cleanliness of the café area, including food handling, beverage service stations, and seating spaces Handle cash transactions responsibly, ensuring accurate processing and cash handling procedures Food preparation and execution according to chef standards and recipes Follow food safety protocols diligently to ensure proper food handling and hygiene standards are upheld Skills Experience as a Barista or in food service is preferrable but not required Familiarity with Toast POS systems is a bonus Excellent customer service skills and positive attitude are a must Strong time management skills to handle busy periods efficiently while maintaining quality standards Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail Join us if you're passionate about coffee, eager to deliver outstanding service, and ready to grow your skills in a lively café setting!

Pay:

$19.00 - $22.00 per hour Expected hours: 15.0 - 40.0 per week
