Job Description

Job Summary Join our vibrant team as a Head Barista, where you'll energize our café environment by leading daily operations with enthusiasm and expertise. In this dynamic role, you'll oversee day-to-day café and drive-thru operations, leads the barista team, and help ensure customers receive the quality, service, and welcoming experience we want Buckroe Coffee to be known for. Duties Inventory & Vendor Management
  • Manage inventory counts, ordering, receiving, stock rotation, and waste tracking for coffee, food, dairy, syrups, packaging, and paper goods.
  • Place and track vendor orders, review deliveries, and resolve discrepancies.
  • Monitor usage and adjust ordering to help prevent shortages, waste, and spoilage.
  • Maintain positive vendor relationships and assist with evaluating new products or suppliers as needed.
  • Track inventory costs and communicate significant concerns or variances to the Operations Manager. Team Leadership, Training & Staffing
  • Lead the barista team during daily operations and provide clear direction and support.
  • Manage shift coverage, call-outs, and last-minute staffing changes.
  • Provide staffing feedback and recommendations to the Operations Manager.
  • Support onboarding and training for new team members.
  • Coordinate with Lead Baristas to help ensure training is consistent, practical, and complete.
  • Help create and maintain weekly staff training and new-hire training through Trainual.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for day-to-day employee questions and operational needs.
  • Work closely with Lead and Senior Baristas to maintain strong communication, workflow, and accountability during shifts.
  • Ensure expectations for task completion, customer service, drive-thru service, quality, and speed are being met.
  • Communicate employee performance, attendance, or workplace concerns to the Operations Manager for follow-up when needed.
  • Help create a workplace where team members feel supported, informed, and accountable to one another. Customer Experience & Escalations
  • Model and reinforce warm, consistent customer service.
  • Serve as the senior point of contact for customer concerns that cannot be resolved at the shift level.
  • Respond professionally to complaints, refund requests, and service issues.
  • Identify recurring service or quality concerns and work with the Operations Manager and leadership team on solutions.
  • Ensure café and drive-thru service standards are maintained.
  • Ensure house-made items such as syrups, pastries, and muffins are prepared correctly and appropriately stocked.
  • Assist with menu updates and adjustments that support quality and customer satisfaction. General Store Operations
  • Serve as the senior leader on site when the Operations Manager is not present.
  • Oversee cash handling, deposits, and reconciliation and address discrepancies as needed.
  • Ensure food safety, health, and workplace safety requirements are followed.
  • Assist with facility and equipment needs, including coordinating repairs or maintenance when necessary.
  • Step into any station as needed during rushes, call-outs, or staffing shortages.
  • Ensure the café is clean, organized, and meeting opening and closing standards.
  • Oversee proper equipment care and provide first-line troubleshooting, including coordinating outside maintenance when needed.
Requirements At least two years of proven experience as a manager Dependable, flexible, and comfortable taking ownership. Strong knowledge of coffee preparation and beverage service techniques Prior retail or food service experience with familiarity in handling cash transactions using POS systems such as Square Confident making decisions in a fast-paced café setting. Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate team members and manage shift responsibilities effectively Excellent customer service skills with a positive attitude and clear communication abilities Strong follow-through and attention to quality, service, and team performance. Ability to accurately handle cash and retail math calculations, and inventory management Knowledge of food safety standards, proper food handling procedures, and cleaning protocols in a café environment (including a food handlers certification) Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently during busy periods Ability to stand for extended periods, perform physical tasks such as cleaning and food prep, and work flexible hours including weekends, evenings (until 5:30p.m.), and holiday's. Pay:
$24.00 - $27.00 per hour Expected hours: 30.0 - 40.0 per week Application Question(s): Are you able to work on Saturday and Sunday?
