Job Summary Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii is seeking a friendly, dependable, and energetic Coffee Barista to join the café team. The ideal candidate will prepare quality coffee and specialty beverages, provide welcoming service to guests, operate the POS system, maintain a clean coffee bar, and support smooth daily café operations. Key Responsibilities Welcome guests and provide friendly, professional service. Prepare coffee, espresso beverages, teas, and specialty drinks according to café standards. Operate espresso machines, grinders, brewers, and other café equipment safely. Take food and beverage orders accurately and efficiently. Operate the POS system and process cash and card payments accurately. Answer questions about coffee, beverages, menu items, and available options. Maintain consistent beverage quality, presentation, and portion standards. Keep the coffee bar, counters, tables, and service areas clean and organized. Clean and sanitize coffee equipment, utensils, workstations, and preparation areas. Restock coffee beans, milk, syrups, cups, lids, food items, and other café supplies. Assist with preparing and serving pastries, snacks, and other café items as needed. Follow food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures. Monitor supplies and communicate inventory needs to management. Support team members during busy service periods. Assist with opening, closing, and daily café cleaning duties. Perform additional responsibilities assigned by café management. Requirements Previous barista, café, restaurant, or hospitality experience is preferred but not required. Basic knowledge of coffee and beverage preparation. Friendly, professional, and guest-focused attitude. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced café environment. Good attention to detail and beverage quality. Basic POS and cash-handling experience is a plus. Ability to follow recipes, procedures, and café standards. Reliable attendance and strong work ethic. Ability to stand for extended periods and perform routine café tasks. Flexible availability, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Preferred Skills Previous espresso and specialty coffee preparation experience. Familiarity with commercial espresso machines and grinders. Knowledge of coffee beans, brewing methods, and grind settings. Strong guest-service and interpersonal skills. Ability to multitask during busy service periods. Good organization and time-management skills. Positive attitude and willingness to learn. Interest in coffee and hospitality.
