Job Summary Beach Bum Coffee is seeking an experienced, friendly, and dependable Lead Barista to help lead daily café operations and provide high-quality coffee and guest service. The ideal candidate will have strong barista skills, support and guide team members, maintain beverage quality, assist with café operations, and help create a welcoming and efficient environment for every guest. Key Responsibilities Lead daily barista and coffee bar operations during assigned shifts. Prepare espresso, brewed coffee, tea, and specialty beverages according to café standards. Maintain consistent beverage quality, presentation, recipes, and portion standards. Operate and monitor espresso machines, grinders, brewers, and other café equipment. Assist with training, coaching, and supporting baristas and café team members. Welcome guests and provide friendly, knowledgeable, and professional service. Take orders accurately and operate the POS system. Process cash, card, and other payments accurately. Answer questions about coffee, beverages, menu items, and available options. Help coordinate workflow and service during busy periods. Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked coffee bar. Clean and sanitize espresso equipment, grinders, utensils, counters, and workstations. Monitor coffee, milk, syrups, food items, cups, and other supplies. Communicate inventory needs and operational concerns to café management. Assist with opening, closing, and daily cleaning procedures. Follow food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures. Help resolve guest requests and service concerns professionally. Support café promotions, special events, and other activities as needed. Perform additional duties assigned by café management. Requirements Previous barista experience is required; lead or supervisory experience is preferred. Strong knowledge of espresso preparation and coffee service. Friendly, professional, and guest-focused attitude. Strong communication, leadership, and teamwork skills. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced café environment. Strong attention to detail and commitment to beverage quality. Experience using POS systems and handling payments. Ability to train and support team members effectively. Reliable attendance and strong work ethic. Ability to stand for extended periods and perform routine café tasks. Flexible availability, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Preferred Skills Lead barista, shift lead, or café supervisor experience. Strong espresso preparation and coffee-brewing skills. Knowledge of grind settings, extraction, brewing methods, and coffee quality. Experience training and coaching baristas. Strong guest-service and interpersonal skills. Ability to multitask and prioritize during busy service periods. Inventory and supply-management experience. Good organization and time-management skills.
