Job Summary Bodega Cafe is seeking an experienced, friendly, and dependable Senior Barista to support daily café operations and deliver high-quality coffee and beverage service. The ideal candidate will have strong barista skills, knowledge of espresso and coffee preparation, excellent guest-service abilities, and the ability to support and guide other café team members during busy service periods. Key Responsibilities Prepare espresso, brewed coffee, tea, and specialty beverages according to café standards. Maintain consistent beverage quality, presentation, recipes, and portion standards. Operate and maintain espresso machines, grinders, brewers, and other café equipment. Support, train, and coach baristas and other café team members. Welcome guests and provide friendly, knowledgeable, and professional service. Take food and beverage orders accurately and operate the POS system. Process cash, card, and other payment transactions accurately. Answer questions about coffee, beverages, menu items, and available options. Help coordinate bar workflow and service during busy periods. Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked coffee bar. Clean and sanitize espresso equipment, grinders, utensils, counters, and workstations. Monitor coffee beans, milk, syrups, cups, food items, and other café supplies. Communicate inventory needs and equipment concerns to café management. Assist with opening, closing, and daily café cleaning procedures. Follow food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures. Handle guest requests and service concerns in a polite and professional manner. Support café promotions, special events, and other activities as needed. Perform additional duties assigned by café management. Requirements Previous barista experience is required; senior or lead barista experience is preferred. Strong knowledge of espresso preparation and coffee brewing. Friendly, professional, and guest-focused attitude. Strong communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced café environment. Strong attention to detail and commitment to beverage quality. Experience using POS systems and handling payments. Ability to support, train, and guide other team members. Reliable attendance and strong work ethic. Ability to stand for extended periods and perform routine café tasks. Flexible availability, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Preferred Skills Senior barista, lead barista, or café shift-lead experience. Strong espresso preparation and specialty coffee skills. Knowledge of coffee beans, grind settings, extraction, and brewing methods. Experience training and coaching baristas. Strong guest-service and interpersonal skills. Ability to multitask while maintaining beverage quality and service standards. Inventory and café supply-management experience. Good organization and time-management skills. Ability to work independently and support café operations with minimal supervision. Positive attitude and commitment to teamwork.
