We welcome members and their guests for dinners, cocktails, and private events in an elegant setting centered on refined, attentive service. Our members expect the same high standard of quality and consistency every time they walk through the door. The Role We're looking for an experienced, dependable Line Cook with barback experience who takes pride in doing things properly and is willing to support both kitchen and bar operations as needed. This role is ideal for someone who is comfortable working in a fast-paced hospitality environment, takes ownership of their work, and understands that great service requires teamwork across the entire Club. What You'll Do Prepare and cook menu items according to Club recipes, specifications, and presentation standards Set up, stock, and maintain kitchen stations before, during, and after service Assist with food preparation for regular dining service, private dinners, and Club events Support bartenders with barback duties, including stocking beer, wine, liquor, mixers, ice, glassware, and other bar supplies Keep bar storage and service areas stocked, clean, and organized throughout service Assist with bar setup and breakdown before and after events Monitor kitchen and bar supplies and communicate stocking needs in advance Maintain clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen and work areas Follow proper food handling, storage, labeling, sanitation, and safety procedures Work closely with the Chef, bartenders, servers, and management to ensure smooth and efficient service Assist with opening, closing, cleaning, and other hospitality responsibilities as needed What We're Looking For At least two years of line cook or professional kitchen experience, preferably in a fine-dining restaurant, private club, hotel, or upscale hospitality environment Previous barback experience strongly preferred Strong cooking and food preparation skills with attention to quality, consistency, and presentation Comfortable supporting both kitchen and bar operations as business needs require Knowledge of proper food handling, sanitation, and kitchen safety practices A strong work ethic—arrives prepared, remains flexible when events run late, and never leaves a task unfinished Dependability and the ability to remain steady and organized during busy service periods and events A sense of ownership—sees what needs to be done and takes care of it Ability to work effectively as part of a small, professional hospitality team Ability to stand for extended periods and safely lift and carry supplies commonly required in kitchen and bar operations Availability to work weekdays, evenings, weekends, and holidays as Club events require Join us as a Line Cook at The John Hand Club and be part of a team committed to exceptional hospitality.
