Lead Bartender / Bar Manager West Hollywood, CA 90069 From $21 an hour - Full-time From $21 an hour - Full-time Position Summary We are seeking an experienced, energetic, and professional Lead Bartender / Bar Manager to oversee daily bar operations while delivering exceptional guest experiences. This role combines hands-on bartending leadership with operational management responsibilities, including staff supervision, inventory control, customer service excellence, sales growth, and maintaining a clean, efficient, and profitable bar environment. The ideal candidate is a strong leader with excellent communication skills, deep knowledge of cocktails and beverage service, and a passion for hospitality. Key Responsibilities Bar Operations Oversee all daily bar operations and ensure smooth service during shifts Open or close the bar according to company procedures Maintain cleanliness, organization, and compliance with health and safety regulations Ensure all beverages are prepared consistently and according to standards Monitor bar atmosphere, music, lighting, and overall guest experience Leadership & Staff Management Lead, train, motivate, and supervise bartenders and bar staff Create staff schedules and manage labor costs efficiently Conduct team meetings and ongoing training on cocktails, service standards, and upselling Address employee performance issues professionally and constructively Foster a positive, high-energy team culture Customer Service Provide outstanding hospitality and personalized guest experiences Handle customer concerns or complaints quickly and professionally Build relationships with regular guests and VIP clientele Ensure responsible alcohol service at all times Inventory & Financial Management Monitor liquor, beer, wine, and supply inventory levels Place orders with vendors and maintain relationships with suppliers Track pour costs, waste, and inventory variances Assist with budgeting, pricing, and maximizing profitability Maintain accurate cash handling and end-of-night reporting Sales & Promotions Develop drink specials, signature cocktails, and seasonal menus Support promotions, events, and nightlife programming Increase beverage sales through creative marketing and upselling strategies Collaborate with management on special events and entertainment nights Qualifications Minimum 5 years bartending experience Previous leadership or bar management experience preferred Strong knowledge of cocktails, spirits, beer, and wine Excellent customer service and communication skills Ability to lead in a fast-paced, high-volume environment Experience with Toast POS systems and inventory management Strong organizational and problem-solving skills Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays TIPS/ServSafe certification preferred Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods Ability to lift up to 50 lbs Comfortable working in loud, fast-paced environments Compensation Competitive hourly wage Tips and performance bonuses (if applicable) Opportunities for growth and advancement Ideal Candidate Traits Charismatic and professional Strong leadership presence Detail-oriented and reliable Passionate about nightlife and hospitality Team player with a positive attitude
