16.90 per hour, plus tips Salty Paws Cantina is looking for an experienced, dependable, and outgoing Bartender/Server to join our team. This is a dual-role position, so applicants must be comfortable working behind the bar and serving tables as needed. Qualifications Minimum one year of bartending and/or serving experience required Strong knowledge of beer, wine, liquor, cocktails, and responsible alcohol service Must meet all legal age requirements for serving alcoholic beverages California Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) certification required or must be obtained within the legally required timeframe Valid California Food Handler Card required or must be obtained within the legally required timeframe Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and special events Experience with Toast POS is preferred but not required Reliable transportation and consistent attendance Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 pounds Friendly, professional appearance and positive attitude Strong communication, multitasking, and customer-service skills Bartending Responsibilities Prepare and serve beer, wine, cocktails, shots, and nonalcoholic beverages accurately and consistently Follow established recipes, portion controls, and proper pour standards Check identification and follow all California alcohol-service laws and company policies Monitor guests for signs of intoxication and refuse service when necessary Accurately enter orders, process payments, and close checks using the POS system Maintain control of cash, credit-card transactions, tabs, and receipts Keep the bar clean, organized, stocked, and ready for service Restock liquor, beer, wine, mixers, garnishes, glassware, ice, and supplies Complete opening, running, and closing side work Wash and polish glassware and maintain sanitary bar equipment Notify management of low inventory, spills, breakage, guest concerns, or safety issues Never provide complimentary drinks or overpour without management approval Serving Responsibilities Greet guests promptly and provide friendly, attentive service Explain menu items, specials, and drink options Take accurate food and beverage orders Enter orders correctly and communicate clearly with the kitchen and bar Deliver food and drinks promptly Check on guests throughout their visit and resolve concerns professionally Pre-bus, clean, sanitize, and reset tables Assist with running food, bussing, stocking, and other team duties Handle payments accurately and follow all cash-handling procedures Maintain clean and organized dining, patio, service, and server-station areas What We're Looking For We want someone who works with urgency, supports the entire team, and understands that no task is beneath them. The right candidate is dependable, honest, professional, and able to stay calm and friendly in a busy bar environment. You must be willing to bartend, serve, run food, clean, stock, and help wherever needed. Please submit your résumé and availability.
